Hello & Welcome to Professionals Pearls!

Our names are Ithar and Ruaa. We are sisters and Community Builders with deep experience in public health, community psychology, and behavioral science. We live in the Midwest (USA). We were born in Sudan and moved to the USA at ages 7 and 10. With knowing only two words in the English language “bicycle and basketball” we came a long way to achieve success and do work that is both exciting and impactful. Our deep interest is to help people reach their full potential based on what we have learned over the years. Whether you want to go to college for as long as we have (19 years combined) or directly to the hustle route, everyone needs tips and strategies to achieve success. Ithar has a Masters in Public Health and a PhD in Community Behavioral Psychology and is a Research Project Director. Ruaa has a Masters in Public Health (also a doctoral student) is a full-time COVID-19 Testing Equity Project Manager.

We launched this blog to share gems (tools, strategies, ideas, and stories) for professionals to lead happy, healthy, and fulfilled lives. This is the reason this blog was named Professionals Pearls. We offer gems related to: 1) Professional & Personal Growth, 2) Lifestyle, 3) Our Work, and 4) Letters to people, places, and ideas. We hope that this blog reaches those who most need it and has a positive impact on individuals, families, and communities.
